Mariah Carey’s Diet and Exercise Tips for Weight Loss and Maintenance

Mariah Carey is all over the magazines, daytime talk shows and billboard charts. Her album E=MC2 broke Elvis’ record, and she’s still belting out those perfect notes with her distinctively soulful pipes. Mariah is hotter than hot and has all the curves in the right places.

"A friend politely told me I had to lose weight, so I hired a wonderful trainer whose name is Patricia Guy." She shares. "I still feel like I have a way to go, but I don’t want to become a size zero. I can never be a stick figure. I feel like women should embrace what they are physically."

Mariah-Carey.jpgMariah Carey’s diet involves eating small, balanced, 1,000 to 1,500 calorie meal per day. Her dietary intake consists of a lot of vegetable soups and fish prepared blandly in what she calls as a bleak diet. She also makes sure to drink at least 3 liters of water every day and Mariah credits 75% of her weight loss to these diet modifications.

For Mariah Carey’s exercise routine, personal trainer Patricia Guy designed an intensive workout regimen alloting 90 minutes every day mostly by Aqua exercises.The workout starts with a 20 minute warm-up in the pool performing breaststrokes, water jogging, as well as dolphin kicks. Then she does 30 minutes of full body workout in the water using a "noodle" float for kicking, "bicycling" and kickboxing.

Mariah also does aerobic exercises, yoga and pilates in addition to her everyday routine.
