Negative Calorie Foods: what foods to eat to lose weight easier

All foods contain nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins or fat), they also contain calories (energy) and vitamins and minerals. It is known that vitamins stimulate living tissues to produce enzymes, substances that basically break down food. These enzymes are responsible for accelerating the biochemical reactions in the body.

It was found that there are a number of foods that contain sufficient vitamins and minerals and that produce, in turn, an excess of enzymes. Thus, enzymes are not only sufficient to complete the decomposition of the ingested food, but will involve further in the digestive processes, positively influencing the rate of the metabolism.

These foods that produce enzymes contain a lot of water, complex carbohydrates, little proteins, small quantities of fat and large quantities of minerals and vitamins. Carbohydrates in these foods tend to stimulate the metabolism, because by their decomposition they transform into simple carbohydrates, and the body releases insulin. At the same time, two hormones are released: norepinephrine and thyroid hormone, both favoring the activation of the basic metabolism.

These foods are poor in calories and therefore they do not cause weight gain, but rather their digestion requires high energy consumption from the body. At the same time these foods have a medium or low glycemic index, which favors maintaining blood glucose within normal and stable limits. These are negative calorie foods.

It is known that the glycemic index is an indicator of the resorption or absorption rate of the consumed carbohydrates, rate that largely determines a postprandial blood sugar levels, that being blood sugar values between two meals.

This group of healthy negative calorie foods contains a number of fruits, vegetables and spices.

Negative calorie Fruits: apples, pears, bananas, grapes, kiwi, apricots, strawberries, peaches, nectarines, blueberries, oranges, lemons, grapefruit, red and yellow watermelon, mango, pineapple, papaya, etc…

To maximize the speed of the metabolism, these negative calorie foods should be consumed in their natural form and not with processed and unhealthy foods which will inhibit the formation and activity of the enzymes. This way we can consume a variety of healthy, delicious foods with a low energy value, and at the same time assuring the health and figure that we want.
