Second Phase Of the South Beach Diet: Allowed and forbidden foods

Knowing how different foods affect your body you can help you lose weight faster and recuperate from slipups in the future. You will understand the metabolism not in a scientific manor but a practical one, and how it can affect your blood chemistry.

FOOD THAT YOU CAN EAT AGAYN DURING THE SECOND PHASE OF THE SOUTH BEACH DIET

Fruit: apples, dried or fresh apricots, blueberries, honeydew melons, cherries, grapefruit, grapes, kiwi, mango, oranges, peaches, pears, prunes, raspberry, strawberry

Dairy products: skimmed soy or cow (1% fat) milk, skimmed simple or fruit flavored yogurt

Flour products(in small quantities):rye flour buns; whole wheat or rye flour buns; high fiber buns, oat flakes; whole flour muffins (no sugar, no raisins); whole wheat paste; pop corn; brown or wild rice; barley.

Legumes: spotted beans, baby peas, sweet potatoes.

Others: dark chocolate (occasionally), low fat pudding, red wine.

FOODS THAT YOU SHOULDN’T OR SCARCELY EAT

Flour products and bread: processed wheat buns/bread, biscuits, corn flakes, pasta, rice cookies, white rice, croissants.

Legumes: beets, carrots, corn, baked/mashed potatoes .

Fruits: bananas, compote fruits, fruit juice, pineapple, grapes and melons.

Others: honey, ice-cream, jam.
