Lack of exercising, an unhealthy diet, drinking and smoking are the 4 pillars of a premature death. If you don’t value your life, if you want to die young and cut your life short all you have to do is do all of them at the same time. But if you want to be healthy and live a long prosperous life stop smoking, avoid alcohol abuse, eat healthier food and start exercising.

A report from the April 26 2010 issue of Archives of Internal Medicine combined the conclusions of many studies that have shown that an unhealthy lifestyle clearly shortens your lifespan. What is truly worrying is the fact that all of the 4 unhealthy habits can coexist peacefully in on individual. Their combine force wrecks havoc in the human body, shortening your lifespan by 12 years according to one study made by Elisabeth Kvaavik, Ph.D., of University of Oslo, Norway.

Compared to individuals who have a healthy lifestyle those who smoke, drink, don’t exercise and avoid fruits and vegetables like the Devil have a 3 times higher chance of dying of cardiovascular diseases or cancer. They also have a 4 times higher chance of dying because of other health related problems that are aggravated by their unhealthy lifestyle.

If you want to live longer and enjoy a better health you have got to start turning your unhealthy habits into healthy ones. You don’t have to start big. Pick a small unhealthy habit and get rid of it. For example anyone can start eating more fruits and vegetables daily. As you successfully acquire more and more healthy habits get rid of smoking, if you do, and stop abusing alcohol if you drink too much.
