The Lemonade Diet for the Master Cleanse

The lemonade diet isn’t a quick weight loss diet. It is a part of the Master Cleanse diet, in fact it is the most important part. The sole purpose of the lemonade diet is that of helping your body detox itself. With the help of the special lemonade you achieve a total body cleanse.

WARNING: many recommend you do the lemonade diet for at least 10 days. I have read in some places recommendations for 40 days. That is crazy in my opinion. You don’t need all that time to flush most of the toxins from your body. I believe that 3 days is more than enough, and if you can make it you are a true dieting hero.

You see during the lemonade diet all you are allowed to eat, better said drink, is lemonade. You make the lemonade from maple syrup, cayenne peppers, pure water and of course lemon juice. That is all you eat during the lemon diet. As you can see it is going to be a good test of willpower.

You have to drink the lemonade at least 10 times a day. Each serving is made out of 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of organic maple syrup, 1/10 teaspoon of red hot peppers and 1 cup of purified water. Mix all the ingredients well and drink it. Each drink contains roughly 100 calories, so you can establish your daily caloric intake to whatever level you wish. All you have to do is drink more or less lemonade. Please don’t go under 1000 calories each day.

While on the lemon diet you should make sure to drink lots of water too. It will help speed up the cleansing process. But you shouldn’t drink more water than the amount of lemonade you drink each day.

In my opinion, if you truly want to detox your body you should do it as follows:

  • -for 3 days before the lemonade diet eat only organic vegetables and fruits. It doesn’t matter how much of them you eat as long as you eat just vegetables and fruits. Also drink plenty of water. Your body will start flushing out all the toxins gradually.
  • -then for 3 days go on the lemonade diet. In this phase you will eliminate even more toxins because all the processes are already started by the 3 day preparation phase. You should make sure to keep the lemonade diet during the weekend. By staying at home you can avoid many complications due to the lack of energy. If at any time you start feeling ill stop the diet and eat something. Fruits and veggies are great.
  • -for 3 days after the lemonade diet eat only fruits and vegetables. In the last day you can throw in some light meat too. Some grilled fish is awesome, and it goes nice with steamed vegetables.

After the diet is over start eating fatty meats and fatty foods gradually. Don’t go out and order the biggest meal. Your stomach won’t be too happy.

If you cannot hold the lemonade diet for 3 days, try it for just 1 day. You will still benefit from it. The master cleanse is a detoxification plan but you will also lose some weight. Isn’t that good news. But I advise you not to use the lemonade diet as a way of losing weight. You will only harm your body. In fact you shouldn’t go on the lemonade diet more than twice a year. Make sure there is at least a gap of 3 months between each time you keep the lemonade diet.
