The internet and almost all the magazines are full of all sorts of crash diets that supposedly have miraculous effect. They melt the excess fat away and leave you with a smoking hot body. Well that is what they claim to do. The truth is far from the idyllic picture they paint, and you might even suffer some serious health problems because of them.

I am not saying that crash diets don’t work. Some of them are even very effective at making you lose weight but I am willing to bet one million dollars that you won’t be able to keep the results for too long. With the help of crash diets you lose weight fast and gain it back again even faster. And the process of weight loss isn’t usually pleasant, especially if you are using crash diets.

Crash dieting usually implies starving your body which is always bad. You should never willingly starve yourself. All you succeed to achieve by starving yourself is to lose a couple of pounds and to destroy your metabolism. You need a fast efficient metabolism if you want to lose weight and keep it off forever. The faster your metabolism is the more fattening foods you can eat without having to worry about it.

If you want to be like that person that can eat anything they want and not gain one pound, you should avoid crash dieting like the devil. You should use healthy slower diets that will get you the results that you desire and also speed up your metabolism.

A good diet doesn’t only help you lose weight, it also helps you change your eating habits and lifestyle. You cannot continue eating only fast food and expect to lose weight. You have to start eating more fruit and vegetables. A healthy natural diet will give your body all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients that it needs. That way you will enjoy a better health and life.

Believe it or not but sometimes crash diets can be very useful. Say that you get invited to a high class soiree and you find out that the tuxedo or night gown is a little too tight on you. You also look at yourself in the mirror and you realize that you don’t look as stunning as you used to be. You want to leave an impression at the party. In that case you don’t really have any choice. A healthy weight loss diet won’t give you the results you desire in such a small amount of time. In that case you can use a crash diet to lose a couple of pounds.

But you should never use crash diets on a regular basis. They should only be used for emergencies, and a hot date isn’t an emergency. Besides probably your date already knows how you look so there is no point in changing your look too much.

Here are the main reasons why you should avoid using crash diets more than once a year and then only in extreme cases of need:

  • -crash dieting all the time slows down your metabolism and decreases your muscle mass;
  • -you gain all the weight you lose back very fast and you also pack some extra weight as interest;
  • -you don’t get to change your eating habits and create a solid foundation for a healthy life;
  • -crash diets don’t promote a healthy lifestyle that will help you develop your body harmoniously;
  • -a crash diet can even crate serious health issues, being possible to put even your life in danger(this only happens on rare occasions). If your body misses some essential nutrients it cannot function properly.

As a rule if you ever need to go on a crash diet you should never keep the crash diet for more than a couple of day. Crash dieting isn’t something you do for a couple of days. It is something limited to 2-3 days. If you cannot lose the weight you desire in that amount of time you should just forget using it.
